What can I expect: A packed programme of trail running, coastal exploration, strength & conditioning for runners, Pilates, run analysis, flexibility, nutrition workshop – all brought together in a unique island experience
Who’s it for: It’s suitable for runners of mixed ability, though we would suggest you will get most out of the camp if you can comfortably run a 10k. The focus is on trail running, and it’s ideal for those wanting to improve confidence and ability on mixed terrain and building up to longer distance. Pace is not important, plodders and racing snakes welcome!

This is a camp for people who like to run off the beaten track, exploring new places, whilst learning from each other, and from experienced instructors. This is ideal for runners looking to step up to Ultra distance, or for experienced runners wanting to break through a plateau.

What it looks like: Here’s a typical plan for what the weekend could include
Friday: Arrival and straight into some short Cross Country circuits, a beach run, video analysis and an introduction to Functional Strength & Pilates
Saturday: Coastal run with intervals, hill reps and speed work. Secret beaches to explore, seals and basking sharks likely to be seen. Afternoon bike/run session and then a full Pilates & Flexibility session
Sunday: Three Peaks trail run – get the amazing views from Tiree’s ‘mountains’. Afternoon Functional Strength workshop and beach relays, and then a dip in the sea if you dare!
Monday: The Golden Scallop! Team Challenge – how lost can you get on an island 11 miles long! Plus: The Eliminator – a solo handicap challenge. Finishing with a brick Session: Bike & Run – a great cross training workout. Finish the day with run analysis feedback and a beach BBQ in the evening
Tuesday: Whatever energy you have left, we’ll use it all up! We’ll finish in time to get the late ferry of flight home, and it will be a fab end to the training camp
It’s a big schedule – but you’ll have plenty of support, and the programme is made to suit each persons ability and aspirations. We’re always finding new places to explore, new sessions to try, and new challenges to give you – sign up and we’ll see you on the beach!
Travel: Travel to Tiree is by ferry from Oban (Calmac) or flight from Glasgow (Loganair). The camp starts on Friday and allows for arrivals the same morning, and we finish the following Tuesday afternoon to allow departure that same day.
Accommodation: We recommend Millhouse Hostel and will be using that as a base for the camp. The hostel offers dorm type accommodation as well as private rooms. Alternatively there are plenty of self catering holiday cottages if you’d prefer to make other arrangements.
