It’s been talked about for a while now and we’re finally going to give it a go; the challenge to swim, bike and run around Tiree.
Tuesday 20th July at Loch Bhasapol, 5pm for a 5:30pm start.
Swim: 400m – the width of the loch and back
Bike: 12.5km (start and finish at the loch, the route goes up to Balevullin, around Moss to Heylipol Church and then back down the Cornaig road to the loch)
Run: 5km (along the road to Balephetrish corner and back)
You will need to bring all your own kit except wetsuits which are available from Wild Diamond if required (the loch is “warm” but I know I will be wearing a wetsuit).
A note about transitions: in between the different sections it’s up to you to change over as quick as you can, the clock is ticking the whole time. It’s up to you to plan the quickest transition especially between swim and bike (there are no sockets for hair dryers at the loch!).
Everyone’s welcome to come and take part and there is no requirement to complete the whole course, feel free to shorten any of the sections or finish with a walk rather than a run.
There’s no entry fee or rescue cover or marshals – you take part completely at your own risk! Hopefully you will get round the course in one piece and you can say you’ve done a Triathlon! Any questions give me a call. Good Luck!!
