The island of Tiree; 11 miles long, 6 miles wide, famed for it’s white sandy beaches, blue skies, unspoilt landscape, and no midges! Tiree’s coastline is rugged, beautifully carved, and adorned with long stretches of firm sandy beach. The complete circumference takes in 35 miles of the finest Hebridean scenery. And that is the Tiree Ultramarathon – The Land Below the Waves.

The route will start and finish on Gott Bay. The longest of the 14 beaches you will visit. This legendary beach has been known to test the bravest of souls. Hail, wind, rain and even snow has lashed across these sands. But more often than not Tiree is bathed in bright sunshine. Whatever the day brings, your ultramarathon journey starts and finishes here:
Race HQ will be at The Lodge Hotel all weekend including event sign-in, number collection and finish info. The Lodge and Scarinish Hotels will be serving food, and there will be live music and celebrations well into the evening. Full details and timings will be sent out nearer the time. It's going to be an amazing weekend. See you on the beach!
All entry fees are non-refundable. There will be NO refunds given once you enter so please make sure you can run on the event date before entering.
Event insurance is offered on sign up which covers you in case you cant run due to injury or unavoidable travel disruption.
We DO offer - two transfer windows - one in December and another in May - if you decide not to run and have someone who can take your entry we'll offer these two windows to process transfers.
EVENT CANCELLATION: If the event has to be cancelled owing to forces outside the organisers control, we regret that NO entry fees can be refunded. This includes cancellation due to weather conditions.
TRAVEL DISRUPTION: If the ferry or plane is cancelled and you declined the offer of event insurance then we cannot provide a refund or deferral.
We recommend you take out the insurance policy if you want to be covered.
In the interests of being fair to everyone, there will be no exceptions to the cancellation terms in this policy.
